Making meaningful social and environmental impact

I’m a deep generalist when it comes to sustainability with experience making, measuring, and storytelling all kinds of social and environmental impact.

Here’s a selection of projects I’m proud to have helped put out into the world.

Sustainability stories

  • Positioning for Kib Tea

Kib Tea is a herbal tea brand made with ingredients grown on small, regenerative farms in Ethiopia and packed in compostable or recyclable materials. In partnership with &SMITH, I helped Kib build a brand that embraces the concept of circularity as a way to connect its various sustainability attributes.

  • Sustainability framework for Kimai

Kimai is a jewelry brand using high-quality, low-impact materials like lab-grown diamonds and recycled gold. I helped its founders hone in on its sustainability differentiator: a truly traceable supply chain which is almost unheard of in its industry.

  • Mission for L'Estrange London

L'Estrange London is a menswear brand producing versatile clothing designed to last. I helped the brand articulate and evidence its approach to sustainability: 'reimagining every stage of the clothing lifecycle to conserve resources and improve longevity.'

Value chain impact initiatives

  • Supplier search for Gundi Studios

Gundi Studios is a slow fashion brand that celebrates South Asian womxn. I identified suppliers and workshops in India that meaningfully impact women workers through fair wages and training programmes.

  • Product recycling for Away

Away is a direct-to-consumer luggage brand. I set up a partnership and process that enabled Away to recycle any returned or damaged polycarbonate suitcases instead of sending them to landfill.

Community impact progammes

  • Nonprofit partnership for Away

Away is a direct-to-consumer luggage brand. I developed a partnership with Peace Direct, a nonprofit working with conflict-affected communities around the world. Away supported Peace Direct via $1m+ in donations and pro-bono support around marketing and storytelling.

  • Grant fund for Courier

Courier is a media company creating content for a new generation of entrepreneurs. The Courier Fresh Fund is a grant programme for young Black entrepreneurs. I helped launch the fund —developing the application, judging process, and programming in its first year.

  • Accelerator program for SEPHORA

SEPHORA is retailer of over 3k+ beauty brands. I helped lay the foundation for Sephora Accelerate, an incubator programme for underrepresented founders in beauty that launched in 2015 and refocused on founders of colour in 2020.

Impact measurement and reporting

  • Metrics for Raven + Lily

Raven + Lily is a certified B Corp that partners with artisan groups for its accessories and homewares. I helped Raven + Lily come up with a set of metrics to evidence its commitment to women-led, community-driven, and footprint-conscious business.

  • Impact report for NAADAM

NAADAM is a cashmere knitwear brand committed to transparency and ethical practices since it was founded in 2013. In partnership with Reconsidered, I helped NAADAM formalise its commitments in its first Social and Environmental Impact Report.

  • Theory of change for Mailchimp

Mailchimp is a tech company that has invested more than $12m in its local communities. In partnership with Reconsidered, I helped Mailchimp's Corporate Citizenship team develop a theory of change and KPIs to measure the collective impact of its contributions.
